With AJ McCarron lost for the season due to an ACL injury it was expected that the Falcons would bring in a veteran QB to compete with undrafted rookie Feleipe Franks for the backup QB role.
The Falcons reportedly had a tryout after practice on Monday afternoon, and late Monday night reports started to surface on which option they chose.
Josh Rosen is a former top-10 draft pick who hasn't quite seen the start of his career go as planned.
After being drafted by Arizona in 2018 and traded to Miami the next season, Rosen has continued to bounce around the league and the Falcons will be his 5th team in 4 season.

Rosen was with the 49ers earlier this preseason and actually performed well in their opening preseason game, but was released due to a lack of snaps behind Jimmy Garoppolo, Trey Lance, and Nate Sudfeld.
Rosen will have a few practices and the final preseason game of the season, this Sunday night against the Browns, to cement himself as the top option to serve as Matt Ryan's backup.
