CHICAGO -- The largest crowd Guaranteed Rate Field has seen this season was also the most unruly, as a group of fans fighting got the attention of the entire ballpark.
The brawl happened during Monday's 5-1 win by the Chicago White Sox over the St. Louis Cardinals. Some fans shared videos of the fight on Twitter:
The fighting beyond the centerfield was seen all the way from fans sitting down the first base line:
There's been a lot of excitement around this series between the White Sox and Cardinals:
• The crowd of 14,629 was the biggest of the season as the team increased capacity to 60%.
• Manager Tony La Russa is facing the Cardinals for the first time in his career.
• Both teams have Rookie of the Year candidates in outfielder Dylan Carlson and second baseman Nick Madrigal – who were high school teammates.
• Another pair of former high school teammates and current aces Jack Flaherty and Lucas Giolito face each other on Tuesday.
But apparently it wasn't enough for some fans...
