We have our first big officiating controversy of the 2022 NBA playoffs, and, naturally, it involves Draymond Green.

The Golden State Warriors forward was assessed a Flagrant II foul, which constitutes an automatic ejection, after he grabbed onto Brandon Clarke’s jersey fighting for a rebound.

But as the two tangled under the basket, Green also appeared to try and hold him up by his jersey.

Regardless, the officials felt otherwise and ejected the Warriors star, who then decided he would likely add a hefty fine on top of things by celebrating the ejection with his teammates and egging on the Memphis crowd.

The ejection left many fans flabbergasted. The general consensus seemed to be that Green indeed committed a flagrant foul, but to make it a Flagrant II and eject him resulted in fans ripping the officials on social media.

The Grizzlies led by one at the time of the foul and went into the half up six in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.
