After a long NBA career that saw him enter the league immediately after high school, the former Knicks and Cavs guard walked away from the sport to walk on at North Carolina A&T where he is currently a freshman on the men's golf team.

While he works towards his degree as a full-time student, J.R. Smith will also be taking advantage of the new NIL rule in the NCAA by teaming up with the popular athleisure brand Lululemon as the new face of their golf campaign.

However, Smith will not be allowed to wear any Lululemon gear at any NCAA sanctioned event.

It should be no surprise that Smith is signing a NIL deal with the popular brand, signing another deal with Excel Sports Management only a few months ago in January.

During his time in college, Smith has been documenting everything he's been up to, including earning a 4.0 GPA in his first semester of college, and getting emotional when he shared the news with his followers.

"I can't even describe the feeling," Smith said on Twitter. "I ain't even gonna lie to you. I ain't gonna lie. A lot of hard work went into that s--- you know."
