MLB Power Rankings: Who Has the Best Powder Blue Uniforms?
It's not quite at the extent of the late 1970s, but powder blue MLB jerseys have resurfaced across baseball over the last five seasons. In this RDC Sports Gallery, we examine the very best being worn in the game currently:

7. Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays probably have the best font in baseball, and they've perfected the grey road jersey. Unfortunately, the powder blue uniforms that they introduced in 2020 don't work the same was the road uniforms that the Blue Jays wore from 1977-1988. There's just too much blue, and the powder blue brim on the otherwise dark blue hat is brutal. The guess here is that these will be short lived.

6. Texas Rangers
As they prepared to move into Globe Life Field, the Rangers refreshed their look ahead of the 2020 season. The problem is that the Rangers didn't really need to upgrade their uniforms, and when they attempted to do so, they kept hats from their old look but switched to a cursive script that doesn't match. The Rangers wore a powder blue uniform from 1976-1982 as their primary look on the road, but it wasn't especially memorable and said "Texas," not "Rangers," as the current ones do. Long story short, the Rangers adding a powder blue uniform in 2020 was unnecessary, as was their whole uniform overhaul.

5. Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays have only existed since 1998, so these powder blue tops aren't a modern twist on an old jersey. That's fine, because while the team's look currently feels pretty bland when compared with how they dressed when their name still included "Devil" in the front of it, these powder blue tops are pretty fresh.

4. Kansas City Royals
There's a debate to be had about whether these jerseys are more baby blue than powder blue, but they are a clean look. These jerseys are inspired by the team's primary road jerseys worn from 1973-1991. The difference here is that they ditched the blue pants, and instead went with white pants that match the script on the jersey. The white pants probably keep this uniform from being a blue overload, something the Rangers and Blue Jays have struggled to do.

3. Minnesota Twins
From 1973-1986, the Twins donned powder blue jerseys when they played away from Metropolitan Stadium or the Metrodome. The Twins have brought these back for the 2020 season, the 60th season in franchise history. From here, they should put them back in the closet after the 60-game season wraps up.

2. Philadelphia Phillies
Though the Phillies initially wore their powder blue uniforms as their primary road look from 1973-1988, they've repurposed these beauties as their Thursday home jerseys, which they've worn as part of a #ThrowbackThursday promotion that began in 2018. For as much as one generation may associate the powder blue look with Steve Carlton and Mike Schmidt, Bryce Harper put his on stamp on the powder blue uniforms when he hit a walk-off grand slam at Citizens Bank Park while wearing these in August of 2019.

1. St. Louis Cardinals
The reason that the Cardinals checked in at No. 1 on our countdown of the best uniforms in the sport right now is because they have four different looks currently, and they're all excellent. While we like their cream alternates the best of all of their uniforms, they've brought back their powder blue jerseys - which were their road uniforms from 1976-1984 - and they still look excellent.
