Gary Sanchez narrowly being the victim of a horrific injury during Sunday’s Minnesota Twins game against the Chicago White Sox.
During the eighth inning, Sanchez was on-deck and about to step up to the plate for his next at-bat when the previous play was under replay review.

At this time, Sanchez began to walk back toward the dugout, seemingly unaware that teammate Gilberto Cilestino had begun taking swings in the on-deck circle.
Sanchez walked in front of him as he swung and the barrel of the bat just missed Sanchez’s face as he flinched backward.
It was certainly a scary moment as neither player was aware of each other and one that could have ended in a much, much worse scenario. Had Sanchez maybe been one step closer to the dugout who knows how badly he could have gotten hurt.
Sanchez seemed to say something to Cilestino, who looked up toward the sky and started to walk away from his teammate. As Sanchez went back to the plate he had some more words for Cilestino.
The Twins catcher proceeded to strike out but is probably more thankful that he didn’t take a bat to the face.
