Gonzaga men's basketball coach Mark Few recently pled guilty in a drunk driving case in Idaho, court documents show.
Few entered a guilty plea last week on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, after he was stopped for erratic driving on Sept. 6 in Coeur d'Alene.
Court documents show that as part of the guilty plea, Few must pay a $1,000 fine and perform 24 hours community service.
As well, his license remains suspended through Nov. 5, after which time he will be required to use an interlock device for a year while on unsupervised probation, according to the Associated Press.
The 58-year-old coach has also completed a drug and alcohol abuse course, the report said. He faced up a maximum penalty of up to six months in jail.
Few was previously suspended by the school for three games -- two exhibition contests and the regular-season opener against Dixie State on Nov. 9. He could potentially be back on the bench for a Nov. 13 game against No. 5 Texas.
He has apologized for the DUI incident repeatedly.
“I have had a month to reflect on the regretful decisions I made on Sept. 6,” he said said in a statement earlier this month. “I again offer my sincere apology and I remain committed to learning from this mistake.”
He was originally arrested but was later released with a citation during the Labor Day Weekend incident.
At the hearing, he said he was "pleading guilty because I am guilty."
The 2017 Coach of the Year's .834 career winning percentage is tops among active coaches, according to the AP. Few has guided the Bulldogs to two Final Four appearances in his 22 years as head coach. He was also an assistant for Team USA under head coach Gregg Popovich at the Tokyo Olympics.
