Three-time Super Bowl champion Mike Vrabel takes over the Tennessee Titans as they face the Miami Dolphins in the season opener on Sunday. Most recently, Vrabel was the defensive coordinator in Houston. He is hoping quarterback Marcus Mariota can bounce back from a lackluster year last season where he threw 13 touchdown passes and 15 interceptions. Mariota will be working in a new offensive system under first-year coordinator Matt LaFleur, who was the offensive coordinator with the Los Angeles Rams last season. Derrick Henry will get a bulk of the carries for the Titans but they've brought in Dion Lewis from the New England Patriots to share some of those and also be a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield. Defensively, Tennessee has tried to improve a little through the draft taking linebackers with their first two picks although one of them, Harold Landry, is out with a high ankle sprain. They also added help in the secondary signing Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan.

As for the Dolphins, Miami's team is coming off a tough 6-10 season and is basically looking for consistency. Head coach Adam Gase is calling on Ryan Tannehill to return to his 2016 form when he threw 19 touchdown passes. Tannehill missed all of 2017 with a knee injury. He'll now have Danny Amendola at receiver, one of Tom Brady's favorite targets in New England. It will be difficult, however, to replace Jarvis Landry and his 9 touchdowns (Landry is now in Cleveland). The Dolphins have also added Frank Gore to the backfield. Defensively, Mariota will have his hands full dodging Miami's defensive ends Cameron Wake and Robert Quinn who had 20 sacks between them last season.
