This game would have looked a whole lot better had the Philadelphia Eagles won last week. And it doesn't help that the defending champs likely will be without starting QB Carson Wentz. Can Nick Foles put together a magical run again? It doesn't seem likely. The Eagles (6-7) have been disappointing on both sides of the football, and have not been able to string wins together. They will need some sort of miracle to win in Los Angeles and then beat the Houston Texans to fight into the playoffs. The Los Angeles Rams (11-2) finally faced some adversity last week when their high-octane offense couldn't accomplish anything against the Chicago Bears. They scored a season-low six points, wasting a good performance from their defense. The Rams can clinch a first-round bye with a win and a Bears loss. They are neck-and-neck with the Saints for the top seed in the NFC and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Eagles fans have seen Foles come in and have success before. He's a capable backup who has started plenty and helped lead the team to a Super Bowl title earlier in 2018. This just feels like a different team, though, without the swagger that last year's team had. Foles is not elusive outside the pocket, and the Rams front seven is lethal. The Eagles are asking rookie running back Josh Adams to do more than they could have anticipated coming into the season. Golden Tate has been a huge disappointment since they traded for him. Zach Ertz leads the receiving corps. The tight end is third in the NFL with 98 catches, and he's over the 1,000-yard plateau. Their banged-up defense still features the likes of Malcolm Jenkins, Michael Bennett, Nigel Bradham to try to find a way to stop the Rams.
The Rams offense is due for an explosive game after what happened last week, and the Eagles defense is a major step down from the Bears defense. Expect Jared Goff and Todd Gurley to put on a show. There's just too much talent on offense to have back-to-back duds. On defense, all eyes will be on the front seven led by Ndamukong Suh and Aaron Donald in primetime. Look for those guys to potentially have a couple of sacks apiece. Sean McVay is going to be sending the house against a QB who isn't very mobile. This game has the makings of a blowout.
