This is possibly the game of the week, and it goes down in primetime Sunday night in Pittsburgh. The 8-3 Los Angeles Chargers are in trouble, though: Their superstar running back Melvin Gordon is week-to-week with a sprained MCL and will miss this big matchup. The Chargers are coming off a sensational win over the Arizona Cardinals in which Philip Rivers made like Benjamin Button. The older the veteran QB gets, the better he gets: He completed 25 consecutive passes to start the game. The Chargers need a lot more of that with Gordon out against a Pittsburgh Steelers team that is jacked up following a heartbreaking 24-17 loss to the Broncos in Denver.

Rivers put on an absolute clinic against the Cardinals, finishing 28 of 29 passing for 259 yards and three TDs. His 96.6 completion percentage was the highest in a single game in NFL history, another line on a potential Hall of Fame resume. There's a lot of places for Rivers to get the ball to on offense. Austin Ekeler has been a key contributor as a receiver out of the backfield, and he had 103 yards from scrimmage and a TD last week. Keenan Allen has a TD grab in each of his past three games, and Mike Williams had two TD snags last week. On defense, Joey Bosa is back and looks ready to return to elite form. He had two sacks last week. Rookie safety Derwin James is having a tremendous debut season. He is the only player in the NFL with at least 75 tackles, three sacks, and two INTs.

Big Ben Roethlisberger had to throw the ball 56 times last week. Though he threw for 462 yards, the Steelers scored just 17 points. He also threw the interception in the end zone, his 12th pick of the season, that sealed the loss. Roethlisberger ranks second in the NFL with 3,664 passing yards. JuJu Smith-Schuster was sensational last week with 13 catches for 189 yards, including a 97-yard TD catch. Antonio Brown has 10 TDs in his past nine games. The Steelers need a big game from running back James Conner. T.J. Watt continues to lead the defense. He has three sacks and three forced fumbles in the past three games. The secondary will have its hands full against Rivers.
