North Carolina head coach Roy Williams retired on Thursday morning, capping a 48-year coaching career.
Williams, 70, retired with a 485-163 record at UNC where he won three National Championships with the club in 2005, 2009, and 2017. He also led Kansas to four Final 4 appearances in 15 seasons.
There are already betting odds up for who will be the next coach of the storied program, headlined by current assistant coach and North Carolina alumni Hubert Davis at +100.
Davis played for UNC from 1988 to 1992 before rejoining the staff in 2012.
Former Tar Heels player and current UNC-Greensboro head coach Wes Miller has the next shortest odds at +275. Miller led the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament this season as a No. 13 seed.
Former North Carolina star Jerry Stackhouse comes in third at +600 to take over the reigns. If this happens, he'd have to leave his current post at Vanderbilt.
If you are feeling frisky, both UNC stars Michael Jordan and Vince Carter are 500-1 to take over as coach of the Heels.
