The Philadelphia Eagles know full well how Phillies players are feeling Wednesday morning.
The Phillies saw their season come to an end at home Tuesday night, losing 4-2 in Game 7 of the NLCS to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Philly went up 2-0 in the series and ultimately returned to Citizens Bank Park with a 3-2 lead, but couldn’t put the finishing touches on Arizona in Games 6 and 7.
That devastating loss comes just months after the Eagles came up just short on a big stage, falling to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl despite leading by 10 at halftime.
Eagles center Jason Kelce told the 94WIP Morning Show on Wednesday how Phillies players likely are feeling waking up after the loss.
“You just heard it right after the game with what Bryce (Harper) said, you’re focusing on all the things that you could have done throughout the series,” Kelce said. “(Craig) Kimbrel is thinking about Game 3 and Game 4, Harper is thinking about the last at-bat, as though that was the one time the series was decided. It’s going to tear you apart.”
