Terrell Owens' agent said he reached out to the Cowboys about a potential reunion.

It doesn't appear they picked up the phone.

In recent weeks, the 49-year-old former wide receiver has attempted to put himself back on the NFL radar. Owens told 95.7 The Game earlier in the month he had said to 49ers CEO Jed York that he was available, then his agent said they had been in “constant communication with the Cowboys.”

Owens played in Fan Controlled Football earlier this year, and a video from August showed him running a 4.38 40-yard dash. Who knows if that will be enough to draw legitimate NFL interest, but Jerry Jones was quick to dismiss the idea in his weekly appearance on the “K&C Masterpiece.”

“I’ve never talked to him or his agent and will not seriously consider it," Jones said. "But I’ve never talked to him.”

No mincing words there.

Owens returning to the NFL has always seemed like a longshot, but if it ever will come to pass, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be in Dallas.
