Joel Embiid likes tweet roasting John Collins' Drew League performance

Joel Embiid seems to be feeling a sense of schadenfreude when it comes to Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins.

The Philadelphia 76ers star liked a tweet over the weekend describing Collins’ rough day in the pro-am Drew League, in which he was posterized, fouled out (the first NBA player to do so) and whose team, which included Trae Young, ultimately lost.

The tweet even included the video of Collins getting dunked on.

Embiid and Collins have no love lost between one another as the two share a bit of a history with one another dating back to the 2021 Eastern Conference semifinals.

In Game 6, which the Sixers ultimately won to force a Game 7, Collins posterized Embiid when he threw down an alley-oop dunk over him in the third quarter, although it appeared Collins wrapped his arm around Embiid’s head on the way up.

Later in the game, with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the two got into a bit of a scuffle with one another after Embiid was called for an offensive foul on Collins.

Embiid got up and walked Collins back with his chest toward him and arms out after Collins appeared to push Embiid when the two of them were on the ground after the foul.

The Hawks went on to win Game 7 and advance to the Eastern Conference finals and Collins wore a T-shirt after that game with a photo of himself dunking on Embiid in his post-game press conference.

Needless to say, it is evident Embiid still holds a grudge toward Collins and will be basking in his failures, even — or especially — if it’s the Drew League.
