With his calendar clear (the result of a devastating Wild Card loss to Jacksonville), Chargers sack artist Joey Bosa made the trip to Philadelphia for Sunday’s NFC Championship between the 49ers, winners of 12 straight, and top-seeded Eagles. Wearing Niners gear in support of his brother Nick, a finalist for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, the elder of the two Bosa siblings received a decidedly cool reception from fans who recognized him outside the entrance to Lincoln Financial Field, heckling the 27-year-old for the way his season ended just two weeks prior, finding himself on the wrong end of one of the worst collapses in NFL postseason history.
That must have struck a nerve with Bosa, who did not take kindly to the criticism, engaging in a hostile exchange that could have turned ugly if the four-time Pro Bowler hadn’t been nudged along by friends and family shepherding him inside the stadium.

Bosa lost his cool against the Jaguars, receiving an untimely personal foul for unsportsmanlike conduct in the fourth quarter of a game Los Angeles led by as many as 27 points. When a fan taunted him for his recent fine, docked $55,000 for his post-game remarks against the officiating crew, Bosa responded by flaunting his wealth, quipping, “I’m f---ing rich, you f---ing broke b----!”
Sticking out like a sore thumb at 6’5,” 280 pounds, Bosa was probably naïve to think he could blend in among thousands of diehard Eagles fans, some of whom arrived as early as 4 AM to start tailgating. Needless to say, tensions are high with a trip to Super Bowl LVII hanging in the balance.
