The Giants may be searching for an answer at quarterback for their final two games this season, after watching Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm stink it up once again in a dismal loss to Philadelphia.
If they are, well, don’t count on Johnny Football being a savior, assuming that thought even entered your head.

It did for one Twitter user, @ThePSUFireman, who pondered if Manziel was available while lamenting the Giants’ quarterback play on Sunday:
Manziel’s response?
Yes, that’s Cam Newton sliding away slowly, the NFL version of the Homer Simpson retreating into the bushes meme. And no, despite being benched (and watching his replacement get booed), Newton isn’t the answer either, so it’s all just for a good laugh.
To be fair, though, even if he was interested, it’s doubtful Manziel is the answer to any question of “what quarterback can we go out and get?” given that he’s said he’s not interested in playing professional football anymore.
Even if he was, Manziel, a first-round pick in 2014, has not played a snap in the NFL since 2015, and had just 1,675 yards passing and a 7:7 TD to INT ratio in his two seasons with the Browns. He didn’t surface again until playing in the CFL in 2018 – where his 1,290 yards and 5:7 TD to INT ratio weren’t much to write home about – and also had cups of coffee in the Alliance of American Football in 2019 and the Fan Controlled Football League in 2020.
That, perhaps, led one other Twitter user to this conclusion:
Bold strategy, but maybe if it was this kid?
