Now that this year’s NFL Draft is long over, it’s time to take out the crystal ball and look to next year’s prospects. As NFL hopefuls gear up for 2022, the betting odds are out for which players might be taken with the first overall pick. Let’s take a look at some of the odds for which ones could take that top 2022 Draft spot.

At the head of the list, we have Kayvon Thibodeaux with +250 odds. Thibodeaux is a sophomore defensive end at Oregon who set the program’s freshman record with a team-high 9 sacks. As a sophomore, he was the Morris Trophy winner and the Pac-12 Championship Game MVP. In his two career Pac-12 Championship Games, Thibodeaux has a combined 18 quarterback pressures, 10 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He has the chance here to be Oregon’s third top-10 pick in the past three years.

“Defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux is the early betting favorite to be the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft,” BetMGM Sports Trader Darren Darby said. “Quarterbacks are always coveted at the top of the draft but Thibodeaux would make any team better. As of now, Spencer Rattler, Sam Howell and Kedon Slovis are the most likely passers to go first.”

Spencer Rattler’s odds are at +300. Rattler is a sophomore at Oklahoma who led the team to a 7-0 record and a Cotton Bowl win over Florida. He threw for 28 touchdowns with seven interceptions in the 2020 season.

Then we’ve got Sam Howell with +400 odds. The North Carolina sophomore quarterback led the ACC with 30 touchdowns in the 2020 season. He was also a three-time ACC Quarterback of the Week and threw three touchdowns with 234 passing yards in the Orange Bowl against Texas A&M.

And the odds for Kedon Slovis are +800. The USC sophomore quarterback, and team captain, threw 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions in the 2020 season. He also ranks ninth on USC’s career passing list with 459 completions.

It’s never too early to get a jump on the 2022 NFL Draft odds and, especially with all the talent in this pool, these are definitely ones to keep an eye on.
