PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — With the swig of a beer, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce announced Thursday night he'll be wearing the midnight green on Lincoln Financial Field at least one more year.
The Eagles posted a video on social media Thursday, with the bearded fan favorite apparently using the beer keg Coach Nick Sirianni said on SportsRadio 94WIP Wednesday that he sent Kelce to convince him to stay. Kelce was a guest host on the show.
After an offseason where he had been considering retirement, the beer worked.
"I've decided to announce that I'm retiring from hosting on WIP," Kelce deadpanned, "but I'm definitely not retiring on playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm having way too much fun doing that."
Kelce has spent the last 11 years with the Philadelphia Eagles, earning four first-team All-Pro honors anchoring their offensive line, including their 2017 Super Bowl championship season.
"Looking forward to another year, Philadelphia," he said. "To all my teammates, let's go dominate."
