Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings came away with an overtime win in Buffalo in a crazy back-and-forth game against the Bills on Sunday. Both teams had chances to secure the victory in the final minutes, but neither got it done until overtime.

Cousins led a 60-yard drive in overtime that resulted in a 33-yard field goal. Patrick Peterson then intercepted Josh Allen near the end zone to end the game and move the Vikings to 8-1 on the season.

Cousins joined NFL Insider Josina Anderson of the Audacy Original Podcast "The Crew” for an exclusive interview about the game, the Vikings’ chemistry, and more.

“It was a big win,” Cousins said (3:53 in player above). “One of the crazier games I’ve ever played in. Grateful to be coming home with a win and get to 8-1.”

The Vikings trailed 27-17 entering the fourth quarter. They outscored the Bills 13-3 in the final quarter – all coming in the final 4:34 – to force overtime.

“It was wild. There were so many plays in the game where I thought ‘This might be it. That might’ve been the play that cost us the game,’” Cousins said. “And then there were four or five plays where you thought you’d won it and you hadn’t yet. There was still more to go. That’s this league.”

The Vikings have now won seven straight games, all coming by one score. Minnesota is used to playing in high-pressure situations late in games.

“As crazy as that game was, it does feel like every week has been coming down to the wire, the final drive, and you have to just keep playing whether you have the lead, whether you’re trailing because you never know where the breaks will go and the bounces will go and the calls will go as you come down the stretch,” Cousins continued. “That’s probably the thing I’ve been most proud of with our team is just the way we’ve played down the stretch in crunch time, finding a way. Hopefully, we can keep that going.”

Cousins heard from plenty of people after the victory. It was a statement win and quite possibly the game of the year.

“I had a lot of people on the way home texting me or calling me to say ‘Hey, that was the game of the season. That’s a memorable one. Have you ever played in one crazier than that?’” he said. “So people really seem to identify with it and all the twists and turns.”

The Vikings are in for another tough test on Sunday when they host the 6-3 Cowboys.
