The Knicks are assumed to be adding Jalen Brunson once free agency opens on Thursday, but he might not be the only notable guard that New York is targeting.
According to multiple reports, and first noted by Marc Stein on Tuesday, league personnel expects the Knicks to target Spurs point guard Dejounte Murray in a potential trade, and as a potential backcourt pairing with Brunson, who is believed to be set to sign with New York on a four-year deal worth nearly $110 million.
According to a report by Bleacher Report, the Spurs will be asking for as many as four first-round picks for the 2022 All-Star, which the Knicks could meet given their draft night moves that have left them with 11 first-round picks.
Murray, 26, is on a four-year, $64 million deal, and averaged 21.1 points and 9.2 assists last season. His contract expires in 2024.
