Kyler Murray Can Not Survive in NFL: Brian Billick

ATLANTA (92.9 The Game) -- Brian Billick is one of the few that have experienced the feeling of winning a Super Bowl.

The former Baltimore Ravens head coach joined "The Morning Show with John & Hugh" from Radio Row at Super Bowl 53 to talk about what winning a Super Bowl is like.

The Ravens' 34–7 victory over the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV was pretty much sealed for most of the fourth quarter, so unlike most Super Bowl winners, Billick got to relish the moment for a bit.

"You get a chance to look around and go, 'This is kind of cool,'" Billick said. "It was kind of surreal."

Billick also was asked about the "running quarterback" and how much of a chance Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray of Oklahoma has to make it in the NFL. Murray previously was picked in the first round of the MLB draft.

Billick brought up the Ravens' run-first rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson and his evolution as a passer. Essentially, Billick said, if you want a successful "out of the pocket" scheme, you need two quarterbacks with that skill set because one almost always will be hurt.

"Until someone wins a Super Bowl, a championship, outside the pocket, I don't believe that the college ... and that running around, the running quarterback can survive in the NFL," Billick said. "Defenses in the NFL are pretty smart. We're going to keep you in the pocket and we're not going to let you run around.

"Frankly, if I'm Murray, I'm using this to leverage to get a better contract in baseball."

Billick concluded by picking the New England Patriots to win Sunday's Super Bowl LIII.
