LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers was arrested in New Orleans on weapons charge this week, according to a report form WFAB.
Nabers was reportedly arrested 9 p.m. Monday and booked early Tuesday morning into the Orleans Parish Jail on a charge of Illegal Carrying of a Weapon. He was released late Tuesday morning “on his own recognizance,” thus was not required to post bond.
The LSU Athletics Department was aware of the arrest but did not make a statement on the matter as they continue to gather more details, per WFAB.
Nabers is considered to be the top wide receiver for the Tigers and best returning wide receiver in the SEC. He finished last season with 72 catches for 1,017 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
