The Dallas Cowboys need to get back on track Sunday when they face the Dolphins, and they might attempt to do so while a little lighter on the offensive line.
Both Zack Martin and Tyron Smith left the Week 15 loss to the Bills and neither has practiced this week. Martin is dealing with a quad injury while Smith has a back ailment.
Not having one of those players against Miami would be a tough blow for a Cowboys offensive line that has struggled to have all its starters healthy at the same time. Not having both would undoubtedly make life a little more difficult for Dak Prescott.
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy was asked Friday in his weekly appearance on Shan & RJ if he’s feeling more optimistic for Martin or Smith for Sunday’s game.
“I would say Zack is ahead of Tyron right now,” McCarthy responded.
Chuma Edoga would likely take over for Smith at left tackle if he’s out. T.J. Bass is in line to replace Martin if needed.
