Micah Parsons gives his side after no-showing for debut 'Undisputed' appearance

Micah Parsons was just taking a team-first approach this week.

Someone forgot to tell the folks at FS1 about the change of plans.

Tuesday was supposed to mark Parsons' first of a recurring weekly appearance on "Undisputed" with Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless. Instead, the Dallas Cowboys linebacker no-showed for the appearance.

The optics weren't great, especially when it was divulged that equipment was put in Parsons' home so he could do the interviews there. Further, he was active on Twitter during the time frame in which the network says it was trying to contact him.

Parsons explained Thursday why he ghosted them.

“My starting QB went down and we lost,” Parsons said, via The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram's Clarence Hill Jr. “I just didn’t think it was appropriate for me to be on the show at that point. I need to step up and be a leader. It shouldn’t be on TV, it should be in this locker room. This is where my focus should be right now.”

That rationale clearly didn't get relayed to the necessary parties.

“I got people that handle that type of stuff,” Parsons said when asked about the breakdown in communication. “If there was a miscommunication on that part, I will correct that. I have nothing but love for Skip and Shannon. I wouldn’t just no-show anybody like that. A man is only as good as his word.”

They might be able to rectify communication issues going forward, but certainly FS1 must have thought Parsons would show up weekly when he committed to a weekly spot -- regardless of how the previous game went.
