Jaylen Brown has reportedly been rumored as a target for the Philadelphia 76ers in a potential Ben Simmons trade, but the Boston Celtics do not appear as if they are willing to part with him or Jayson Tatum.
Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer spoke with several executives around the league, with one assistant general manager categorizing the two Celtics All-Stars as “untouchable,” but others wondered just how long that marriage will last.
“I think there’s a pretty widespread belief that they don’t work together,” a general manger told Bleacher Report. “But unless ownership adds pressure on [Boston GM Brad Stevens], I don’t see them doing anything.”
Another assistant general manager in the league confirmed that thinking to Bleacher Report.
“I think they’re starting to get to a place where they don’t think [Brown] and Jayson Tatum can coexist,” the assistant GM said.

Fischer noted that if the Celtics indeed move on from Brown it likely would not happen until after the season.
Boston, which sits on the fringe outside the Eastern Conference playoff picture, defeated the Bucks on Monday with Brown back in the lineup after battling a hamstring injury.
But if Boston is unable to stick around in the playoff race, teams will likely be checking in with the Celtics on possible assets that could be available via trade.
