Prices for goods and services have soared this year due to inflation, but at least one form of sports entertainment is getting substantially cheaper.

Sports fans who have cut the cord on cable will see a significant reduction on the prices for the basketball streaming service NBA League Pass.
As recently as last year, the cheaper of League Pass' two packages cost $230 for the full season, but according to Jacob Feldman of Sportico, subscriptions for the 2022-23 campaign will cost just $99 and will include access to the NBA-owned network NBA TV.
Meanwhile the premium package will drop from $280 to $130, Feldman added.
The markdowns put the price of the League Pass in line with streaming services such as Netflix and ESPN+, per Feldman.
The savings of $130-150 represents a minor windfall for basketball fans, given that average consumer prices were up 9% annually at the end of June.
The price cut comes despite a successful sales year for League Pass, with subscriptions reportedly up by 30% in 2021-22, according to Streamable.
