It was all Jayson Tatum Tuesday night at the TD Garden as the Boston Celtics clinched the No. 7 seed in their play-in game against the Washington Wizards.

Tatum was lights out, scoring 50 points and finishing with eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks in the 118-100 win. He was 17-for-17 from the free throw line and shot 43.7% from the field as the Celtics secured a date with the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the playoffs.

It was Tatum’s third career 50-plus point performance, joining Larry Bird as the only other Celtic to accomplish such a feat.

And while the play-in game does not technically count as a playoff game, only five Celtics — Bob Cousy, Sam Jones, John Havlicek, Ray Allen and Isaiah Thomas — have scored at least 50 points in a postseason game.

It was such an impressive showing from Tatum, he had social media buzzing over his incredible performance.
