Comedian Adam Sandler stars as a down-on-his-luck scout for the 76ers in Hustle, an upcoming sports drama coproduced by Sandler and Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. A new trailer for the movie dropped Tuesday, featuring cameos by NBA stars Trae Young, Anthony Edwards, Kyle Lowry, Khris Middleton, Seth Curry, Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Aaron Gordon, Jordan Clarkson, Boban Marjanovic and Sixers legend Julius Erving. Queen Latifah, Utah Jazz forward Juancho Hernangomez and TNT analyst Kenny Smith also appear in supporting roles.
Hustle, which debuts June 10th on Netflix, was filmed primarily in Philadelphia with scenes shot in Center City, South Philadelphia, Manayunk, Camden and Coatesville Area High School, alma mater of former Pistons All-Star and NBA champion Richard Hamilton. A known pickup player and diehard Knicks fan, Sandler appeared alongside Celtics forward Kevin Garnett in Uncut Gems, released to critical acclaim in 2019. The 76ers feature prominently as Garnett’s opponent in the NBA Playoffs, which carries significant betting implications for Sandler’s character. Other sports-adjacent films in Sandler’s catalogue include Happy Gilmore, The Water Boy and The Longest Yard.

LeBron can only hope Hustle fares better than his last cinematic endeavor, Space Jam: A New Legacy, which resulted in poor reviews and three Razzie awards including a win for James in the Worst Actor category.
