That sound you hear is a collective gasp from the Baltimore Ravens.
A viral video posted over the weekend shows MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson apparently playing some kind of pickup football game on a beach.
In the clip, Jackson is wearing flip flops as he scurries through the sand, and at one point evades a would-be tackler with a pump fake. Toward the end of the short video, after getting around the defender, Jackson appears to get upended by a docked jet ski in shallow water along the shoreline. The clip ends moments later.
Jackson seemed to be OK, and he posted a couple separate photos from his day at the beach.
The episode was surely cause for alarm for Ravens brass and the team's fans, as Jackson led the team to a 14-2 mark en route to the league's offensive MVP award.
The incident conjured memories of former Patriots running back Robert Edwards, who in 1998 suffered a devastating knee injury while playing in the Pro Bowl's now-defunct Beach Bowl.
Last offseason, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was banned from playing basketball on his downtime when a clip surfaced that showed him playing in a pickup game.
