There has been some debate among fans and media alike as to exactly how the Patriots would or even should handle Tom Brady’s return to Gillette Stadium on Sunday night.

Would there be a tribute video for the Hall of Fame franchise legend who reached GOAT status in New England?

Would the game be stopped if/when Brady breaks Drew Brees’ NFL record for all-time passing yards, which the Tampa Bay QB will do with just 68 yards passing against the Patriots defense?

Now, according to a report from NFL Network, it sounds like the answer to both questions is a respectful yes.

According to NFL Network, “Sources say the Patriots will do what's right and classy, offering a tribute to recognize Brady upon his return and also briefly stopping the game to commemorate him surpassing Drew Brees' all-time passing yards mark of 80,358.”

One could presume the “tribute” to Brady will included some sort of pregame highlight video on the Gillette Stadium screen, so fans probably want to be seated early if interested in seeing such a “classy” gesture.

The Patriots host Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Bucs on Sunday night with kickoff set for 8:20 in Foxborough.
