Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts is not only the co-favorite to win the 2021 NL MVP Award at +750 (betting odds courtesy of BetMGM), but he’s also not going out of style anytime soon either.
Betts is at the top of yet another list ahead of this season’s Opening Day: jersey popularity. MLB announced on Wednesday the star outfielder enters the season with the league’s most popular player jersey. This also makes Betts the first National League player to lead the list in consecutive years, as he also had the most popular jersey of the 2020 season.
The 2018 AL MVP winner and former Red Sox is now also the only MLB player to ever earn a top 5 spot on the list in both the NL and AL. The guy just radiates star energy.
Betts has pretty good odds to win the World Series in consecutive years as well. His Dodgers team is favored to win the 2021 World Series at +350. And they’re kind of running away with those odds, too, as the New York Yankees are in second place at +550.
Betts also has the most popular player billboard, which was put up outside Fenway Park recently.
Basically, look for Betts and his team to continue dominating this MLB season. His jersey already is.
