(610 Sports) – Sunday's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals was a prime example of what needs to be fixed when it comes to officiating in the NFL. The officiating in this game, particularly the second half, was especially egregious.

We got a little lucky at the end. We got some calls,” said Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow during his postgame presser.

"We got some calls" might be an understatement, as Cincinnati benefitted from five Chiefs' penalties on just their final two drives, while conversely, not being called for obvious false starts from Burrow and his offensive line.

“I’d like to comment on each one, but I don’t want to be fined,” said Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, when asked about the officiating after the game.

One person who won't blame the refs, however, is Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

"I know it's a hard job, it's a hard job to do," said Mahomes during his weekly spot on 610 Sports' The Drive.

"I mean, when stuff like that happens in the game it's definitely disappointing to us as players. You wanna go down, win or lose, with how you play and if they beat us, they beat us," said Mahomes. "Whenever there's penalties coming near the end of the game and it doesn't go your way, it's definitely disappointing but it's a hard job for those guys to do, so I understand that as well. Sometimes it happens, you move on and go onto the next game."
