While fans of the Oakland A's have let the ownership group know their displeasure with the team's poor stadium condition, abysmal performance on the field, and potential relocation to Las Vegas, one couple decided to head to the ballpark to take in a game -- just not in a fashion that is expected from most fans.
Oakland police have launched an investigation into the couple after a video went viral on social media showing the two allegedly engaged in a sex act during the A's-Mariners at RingCentral Coliseum Sunday afternoon.
Attendance at the game was sparse with only 9,000 fans showing up to watch an otherwise meaningless game for the home team. That didn't stop one far-away spectator from noticing the couple, capturing the two seemingly engaging in the sex act while sitting in the upper rows of the nosebleed section.
According to TMZ Sports, the couple could face up to six months in prison or a fine of up to $1,000 if they are convicted.
Through 122 games, Oakland holds the distinction of having the second-worst record in the MLB. At least some fans who do decide to attend games are still enjoying themselves -- despite the possibility of getting arrested.
As for the Mariners, they still find themselves in prime position to land one of the three American League wild-card spots being 2.5 games ahead of the Baltimore Orioles and Minnesota Twins.
