Many are skeptical about Tim Tebow returning to the NFL as a tight end, but there’s at least one player at his new position who is willing to help the former quarterback make the transition.
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller told TMZ Sports he would totally be down to help Tebow out.
“If he thinks he can learn from me, then I’d love to help him and help make his transition smoother,” Waller said.
Waller, who transitioned from wide receiver to tight end in the NFL, has emerged as one of the best at his position over the last year. Making the change from quarterback, though, is much more challenging, especially for someone who has not been in an NFL camp in six years.
But Waller is confident that Tebow, 33, can figure out success.
“Football is in his blood,” he said. “So, I feel like he’ll find a way. He’ll find a way. He’s physical, he’s athletic. So, I wish him nothing but the best going forward.”
