The Philadelphia Eagles moved to a 7-1 on Sunday with a 38-31 win in Washington over the Commanders. While the Birds aren't quite as dominant as they were last year, they're still finding ways to win and are the only team with fewer than two losses this season.

NFL analyst Mark Schlereth was on the call for the Eagles - Commanders game and had some words for the Birds – and their fans – on the Audacy original podcast “Stinkin Truth” this week.

“People in Philly are miserable anyhow. That’s what they do,” Schlereth said (28:55 in player above). “I appreciate Philly. I like Philly fans. They’re 7-1 and everything with their organization is wrong right now.”

Schlereth’s co-host Mike Evans noted that Philadelphia sports aren’t in a great spot right now after the Phillies lost in the NLCS. Not to mention the other playoff defeats in Philadelphia over the last 12 months.

But this Birds team might be different, Schlereth said.

“Your football team – Go birds – is 7-1,” he continued. “A Philly fan is like this: for every cloud they can find the feces lining. They’re just like ‘Hey, there’s a cloud. I wonder what the crap lining is in that thing.’”

Evans then noted that Eagles fans may have that mindset because it’s Super Bowl or bust after falling just short last season.

“Brand new defensive coordinator. Brand new offensive coordinator. They’ve got all kinds of different things that they are working on. They’re a work in progress,” Schlereth said. “Yet they still find themselves 7-1. Yeah, I think they’re the best team in football.”
