Skip Bayless is at it again.
The longtime TV talking head had yet another shockingly bad take involving Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
On a recent episode of FS1's "Undisputed," Bayless told co-host Shannon Sharpe that Browns QB Baker Mayfield, who is in trade limbo after Cleveland's acquisition of Deshaun Watson, is better than Prescott, a two-time Pro Bowler.
"I'm here to tell you that Baker Mayfield is better than Dak Prescott -- I'll take him over Dak."
Sharpe wasn't having it.
"You're crazy," Sharpe said. "No way."
"I would," Bayless replied. "He just is."
"You need to be ashamed of yourself," Sharpe answered. "You had Dak for five years. Now, because you want to make a point about Baker, you're trashing all the quarterbacks you put on pedestals for five years."
During his recent debate with Sharpe, Bayless denied putting Prescott "on a pedestal" and suggested the quarterback was "dramatically overpaid."
"I have not put him on a pedestal," Bayless said. "I said he was dramatically overpaid."
Sharpe countered that Bayless once suggested Prescott was the equal of Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes, which Bayless denied.
In any event, Bayless is known for arguing in bad faith, so it's hard to take him very seriously on any issue, let alone with respect to one of his old targets in Prescott.
Even evaluating his claim at face value, it's hard to see where Bayless is coming from here. Prescott remains entrenched as Cowboys starter, coming off a season in which he threw for nearly 4,500 yards with 37 touchdowns to just 10 picks.
Mayfield meanwhile is languishing as a trade candidate after an injury-marred season that led to him being supplanted by Watson, all but spelling the end of his four-year with the Browns after they made him the first overall pick in 2018.
