Stan Van Gundy is returning to the broadcast booth.
The former head coach is heading back to TNT to work as both an in-game analyst and studio analyst, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.
Van Gundy, 61, worked at TNT during the 2019-20 season, appearing in most games alongside play-by-play voice Ian Eagle. He left after one year to coach the New Orleans Pelicans, which lasted just one season before he was ultimately fired.
It is unclear who TNT plans to pair Van Gundy with as it continues to figure out how to replace the retired Marv Albert and Chris Webber, who walked away prior to the postseason.
Per Marchand, Turner may go by a committee consisting of Eagle, Kevin Harlan and Brian Anderson as its lead play-by-play voices.
Van Gundy could be an option to replace Webber as the lead analyst. Turner’s other options consist of Reggie Miller, Jim Jackson, Grant Hill and Greg Anthony.
Miller and Harlan have worked together for years while Jackson has worked with Anderson. Hill worked with Eagle during the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
