New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Tom Brady have always had a strong relationship, so when Brady decided it was time to move on there were no hard feelings.

According to an excerpt from the book, “The Dynasty,” by Jeff Benedict, the 79-year-old Patriots owner texted Brady following a half hour meeting between the two about his decision to leave.

The text, read: “Love you more than you know for being so classy in everything you do. Your parents should be so proud. I love them for creating you. You are truly one of a kid.”

By all accounts, Kraft and Brady have grown particularly close over the years. Kraft has said in the past that he loves Brady “like a son.”

Brady, in an interview with Howard Stern in April, said that in the half hour meeting with Kraft he told the Patriots owner he loved him and thanked him for all that he had done.

The two cried in the meeting together and Kraft watched Brady leave his house before writing the text message.

Brady is now preparing for the 2020 season as a member of the Tampa Bay Bucs while the Patriots have signed Cam Newton to lead them as both parties move onto new chapters.
