The Buffalo Bills made a few key additions in the offseason, but none may be louder than Tim Settle. Settle is, well, settling in nicely with the Bills in the early days of Training Camp.
Settle joined Audacy’s It’s Always Gameday in Buffalo to discuss his energetic personality and unique penguin celebration.
“I have no problem with expressing how I feel or who I am. I’m all about energy. I’m all about positivity. I want y’all to wake up when I’m around.” Settle said (2:38 in player above). “I come in, I yell every morning. No matter if I’m in the cafeteria, if I’m in a meeting. Y’all gonna know I’m in the building.”
Settle showed that infectious energy right from the get-go. He let out a “Woo!” during his introductory press conference back in March.
The energetic defensive lineman is also known for his unique penguin celebration. Settle explained the origin of his celebratory waddle.
“When I was in high school I used to show people my highlight tape and I hated my celebration. So when I was in college, I’m like I’m not gonna do that no more,” Settle said (10:25 in player above).
“I was messing around with my teammates and I was doing some stuff and they were like ‘Dang, do that jawn again!’ so I did it again, they were like ‘Yeah, that’s it,’ so I just stuck with it,” he continued. “I’ve just been going with it and ever since then I’ve just been hitting it. I promise you’re gonna see it. I didn’t do it last year. I plan on doing it a lot this year.”
Not only does Settle celebrate like a penguin, but he also donned a penguin tie during his first press conference and has penguins all over his shoes
Bills fans may have a new favorite animal by the end of the season if Settle has anything to say about it.
