The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly considering trading shooting guard J.J. Redick to one of three teams: the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics, according to NBA Insider Shams Charania.

Charania writes:

As Feb. 2 looms as the NBA’s deadline for teams to aggregate acquired players in a trade later, the New Orleans Pelicans have focused on the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics as potential trade destinations for JJ Redick, sources tell The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Redick played for the Sixers from 2017 to 2019, averaging 17.6 points and shooting 40% from three in 146 games. He is playing just 19.9 minutes a game this season for the Pelicans and shooting a career-low 29% from three.

The Sixers’ shooting has improved considerably this season with the addition of Danny Green and Seth Curry, but they could certainly still use Redick as a veteran option off the bench.

Redick is in the second year of a two-year, $26.5 million deal with the Pelicans and carries a $13 million cap hit this season.
