Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer has been having a tough time adjusting to the speed of the NFL. The Jags are 0-4 to start the season and there have been a ton of rumors swirling around that Meyer is sabotaging himself to take the USC head coaching job.
After Thursday night’s loss vs. the Bengals, Meyer, who is well known in Buckeye Country, decided to stay in Ohio for the weekend instead of traveling back with the team. Meyer was trending on Twitter late Saturday night after video and pictures surfaced showing the coach at a bar getting comfortable with a young blonde woman who was not his wife.
As backlash emerged from the videos and pictures, Meyer apologized during a press conference Monday morning for being a distraction to his team and admits he should’ve left the situation.
“I just apologized to the team and the staff for being a distraction. It was stupid,” Meyer said. “I explained everything that happened and owned it, and, you know, just stupid, should not have had myself in that kind of position.”

Meyer continued, saying he stayed behind after Thursday night’s game to visit his grandchildren and grab some dinner with some friends.
"There’s a big group next to our restaurant and they wanted me to come over and take pictures and I did," he added. "They were trying to pull me out on the dance floor, screwing around, and I should have left."
Meyer said he spoke with his team, as well as owner Shad Khan, about the incident and apologized.
“I spoke to a bunch of leaders one-on-one, I spoke with all the players and they were good, they were focused on Tennessee," he said. "I apologized again for being a distraction, a coach should not be a distraction.”
The backlash from these videos will likely add to speculation that he will end up heading back to college even though he said he has no interest.
