Here is a strange and convoluted fact for you…Every year a Spider-Man movie is released in theaters, Ben Roethlisberger has won the first home game he has played after the movie comes out.

It’s a streak that goes back to 2004, as long as Roethlisberger starts and finishes the game at Heinz Field.

Spider-Man 2 starring Tobey McGuire was released on June 30, 2004.

In Roethlisberger’s first official start on September 19 against the Dolphins, he threw for 163 yards in Pittsburgh’s 13-3 win against Miami.

Roethlisberger made his official debut the week before in the loss to Baltimore, when he came in for an injured Tommy Maddox.

Let’s take a quick look at the other years:

Spider-Man 3: released May 4, 2007. September 16, Ben leads Steelers to 26-3 win against Buffalo in season opener at Heinz Field.

The Amazing Spider-Man: released July 3, 2012. September 16, Steelers beat the Jets 27-10.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2: released May 2, 2014.  September 7, Steelers beat Browns 30-27.

Spider-Man: Homecoming: released July 7, 2017. September 17, Steelers beat Vikings 26-9.

Spider-Man: Far From Home: released July 2, 2019.
Roethlisberger starts against Seahawks, but leaves game with season ending elbow injury.

Spider-Man: No Way Home: released December 17, 2021.
Steelers beat Titans 19-13.
