The MLB trade deadline has now come and gone and I know you were counting down the final minutes like I was. After teams made their splashy trades and the dust settled, the World Series betting odds were on the move. Which teams’ odds got longer and which got shorter after 4 p.m. on Friday?

The Los Angeles Dodgers, who acquired Max Scherzer and Trea Turner from the Washington Nationals, saw their World Series odds get a bit shorter, moving from +375 to +325. The San Diego Padres, who were reportedly close to acquiring Scherzer, saw their odds move from +900 to +750. The San Francisco Giants, who acquired Kris Bryant from the Chicago Cubs, saw their odds move slightly from +1200 to +1000. And the World Series odds for the New York Yankees, who added Joey Gallo and Anthony Rizzo, shortened as well, moving from +2500 to +2200.
The odds for a couple of teams got significantly longer. The Chicago Cubs odds moved from +10000 to +15000 after letting go of Javier Baez, Rizzo and Bryant. While the Nationals odds lengthened from +10000 to a whopping +50000 after they moved Scherzer and Turner, as well as Kyle Schwarber to the Boston Red Sox.
Let the real second half of this season begin.
