Jimmy Eat World last played in front of a live audience in December, 2019 when they roared through a nine-song set at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas. Now, they’re getting ready to make their return to the stage for a virtual concert experience that touches on their entire career.
The Phoenix Sessions are a global stream concert series and will see the band performing three albums from throughout their storied career.
On January 15, Jimmy Eat World will perform their 10th and most recent album Surviving in a session called Chapter X. Outside of a handful of shows last October, it’ll be an opportunity for fans to see songs from the album in the live setting for the first time.
On January 29, Chapter V will see Jimmy Eat World perform their fifth studio album Futures. Finally, Chapter III will see the band perform their third studio album Clarity in its entirety on February 12.
“We are always looking for ways to challenge ourselves, to do things as music fans that we think would be cool for OUR fans,” frontman Jim Adkins said in a statement.
“We came up with the idea of presenting a series of concert films centered around a few specific albums (for now) and performing them on a different level. It isn’t the way we normally play a show and it’s definitely something new for how we approach a performance, but we haven’t been able to share the experience with our fans in over a year... so here we go!”
Tickets for the concert streams are on sale now and can be purchased at Jimmy Eat World’s website.
