There's Still Time to Visit the 7 Most Amazing Beaches in the World

With a little more than a month left until the official end of summer, there’s still time to hit the beach.

And whether you live near the shore or are looking for an end of summer destination, hitting up some of the world’s most gorgeous beaches is probably on everyone’s bucket list.

Travel organization Big 7 Travel has compiled a list of the most spectacular beaches by polling thousands of customers, aggregating reviews from media sites, and taking into account the beaches’ official rating from the ecological group Blue Flag, reported Daily Mail.

As far as American beaches, Hawaii’s Sunset Beach on Oahu is the highest rated at #21.

Get ready to hang with the in crowd because South Beach in Miami is golden at #27, while Northern California’s Glass Beach, named for the abundant sea glass that lines the shore, squeaks in at #47.

So pack up your SPF and favorite swimsuit and get ready to plan your beach escape.

1 Golden Horn Beach in Croatia

Coming in all the way at the top is Croatia’s Golden Horn Beach. In addition to its unusual horn shape, the beach also features vibrant water that goes from turquoise to dark blue just 30-60 feet from the shore.

2 Whitehaven Beach in Australia

You have to go Down Under to soak in the beauty of the #2 spot, Whitehaven Beach. Located in the middle of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven is one of the most unspoiled beaches in the world. The white sand is also made of silica which doesn’t get hot at all. Leave the flip flops at home!

3 Fig Tree Bay in Cyprus

Coming in third is Fig Tree Bay located on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. While it does have an uninhabited inlet, it’s also part of a popular resort area with a lively bar scene. So grab a drink once you’ve taken all your Instagram pics!

4 Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos

At number four is Grace Bay in Turks & Caicos. The pristine Caribbean beach has no pollution, baby soft sand and warm shallow waters that lets sun worshippers walk very far into the sea.

5 Secret Lagoon in the Philippines

Closing out the top 5 is Secret Lagoon on El Nido island in the Philippines. To get to the impressive Secret Lagoon, brave swimmers need to make their way through an opening in an underwater rock. While it’s become a popular tourist spot, the vistas are worth the crowds. Don’t forget to get that waterproof case for your camera.
