Jason Kelce did not hesitate when asked if the 2024 Philadelphia Eagles are going to be alright?
"Are they gonna be alright?" Kelce said during his weekly in-studio appearance with the 94WIP Morning Show on Thursday at 7:30am. "I think they're already alright. Nine games in a row, second in the NFL with a real chance to clinch the NFC. There was a lot of reasons why last year collapsed and I just don't think that it is even a comparable situation. Last year we had the 32nd ranked defense in the NFL. Offensively we were struggling too. It was really a compound of so many things going wrong, we tried to switch coordinators half way through a season. It just feels like both—the offense has identity, at least right now. It never really felt like we had that last year. We were kind of always trying to figure that out. Defensively, they're playing lights out. I mean they've really turned a corner really ever since that Tampa game early in the year. Cooper DeJean, there's a lot of young guys—Quintoanamo Bay. They're really playing at a high level. To me it's not even comparable. I think this team has proven that they're a legitimate contender."
After A.J. Brown called out the "passing" game on Sunday, Brandon Graham's comments about the relationship between Brown and Jalen Hurts went viral.
Since then, BG, Nick Sirianni, and then Brown and Hurts yesterday, have defused the situation and Kelce believes this could be a positive for the Birds going forward.
"I think the reality is they underperformed to their standard [against the Panthers]," Kelce told Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie. "They probably want the passing game to be performing better, so we saw frustrations mounting in a game that you don't live up to the expectations you hold for yourself and you're frustrated after a game you see soundbites like that. I'm not as concerned about it, I actually think it can be a positive especially if it's channeled in the right direction. I think these guys know they're really good."
