NFL analyst, former Eagles' scout: '2nd would get it done for Hendrickson'

NFL Network analyst and former Philadelphia Eagles scout Marc Ross wants to see Philly acquire Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

"I think a two would get it done for him," Ross said on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show with Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio when asked what it would take for Philadelphia to get Hendrickson. "The money is really the big hang up with the Bengals trying to get that off of the books there. The longer it goes on, I think the more desperate they will get."

Hendrickson, 30, is currently holding out in hopes of a new contract. Hendrickson has 17.5 sacks in each of the last two seasons, most in the NFL over that span. He has one year remaining on his current deal with a base salary of $15.8 million and a cap hit of $18.67 million.

Ross believes Hendrickson still has plenty of good football left in him.

"Guys like him who are just excellent technicians and savvy and quick and have that dial," Ross said of Hendrickson's future. "When you see him play I think he can continue that style of play for a couple of more years."
