Both James Seltzer and Rhea Hughes believe it is time for the Philadelphia Phillies to move on from manager Rob Thomson.
"I went into last night that it was very unlikely that I would feel Rob Thomson should be fired after that game," Seltzer said on Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show. "Rob Thomson should be fired after that game."
"I need Rob Thomson gone," Hughes said. "My brain hasn't recovered from that sixth inning...You knew immediately [Jeff Hoffman] had zero command. That, I lost my mind. When that fair ball was called foul on Alec Bohm and you got your ass sitting on the bench and you don't come out and go nuts, they were done."
Thomson is 250-185 overall as Phillies manager in the regular and 20-14 in three postseasons.
However, after a 2022 World Series appearance, a 2023 NLCS blown series lead, and now a disappointing 2024 NLDS elimination, it appears the Phillies are moving backwards.
