Rob Thomson called the Philadelphia fan base the "most incredible thing I've ever been through in my life," on the 94WIP postgame show on Wednesday night.
"I know there's a little bit of intimidation there and I know for sure it energizes our guys and it takes them to another level," he continued. "This fan base is so, so important to us and so important to our success, you can't measure it."
The Phillies are now 24-11 (.686) in the postseason at Citizens Bank Park. .686 is the best postseason winning percentage for any team in any ballpark (minimum 20 games). Literally, it is the best home field advantage in baseball, according to Sarah Langs.
The Phillies defeated the Marlins 7-1, winning the National League Wildcard Series 2-0 on Wednesday. They will now face the Atlanta Braves in a rematch of last year's NLDS beginning on Saturday night (6:07pm) in Atlanta.
