Richmond, VA _ Richmond Police detectives are investigating an assault and robbery that occurred last week at the circle at Monument Avenue and Allen Avenue where the Robert E. Lee monument is located.
Police say it happened around 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15. One victim was carrying a rifle when an argument began and both victims were assaulted. Police say a suspect then chased one victim, displayed a handgun, and demanded the victim to drop the rifle. The victim complied and the two then fled the area. Both victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
